   Contributions

   The social fund (mfuko wa jamii) is one ledger account of the organization. A flat contribution per member per meeting is collected by anyone who collects for the group; the default amount comes from the cycle or the policy.

   Grants and interest-free loans

   Members agree on grants or interest-free loans for bereavement, illness, school fees and emergencies. A member holds one social loan at a time; repayments return the loan to the fund.

   Posting

   Every movement of the fund is posted between the cash box and the fund's own ledger account.
